Flight of Shadows Review

Caitlyn Brown's genetic makeup - her DNA - causes her to be the most wanted person on the planet as her DNA enables her to do almost anything. However, that is exactly the opposite of what she wants to do.

Sigmund Brouwer is the author of Flight of Shadows, and although I am new to his work, I have heard more than enough good things about him and his previous novels, so I had a pretty high expectation for this book.

I chose this book to review, but I did not realize that this book is actually a sequel to his 2008 release, Broken Angel. Hm, I seem to make that mistake very often, but I was not too lost because the author managed to include enough details form the previous book to help the reader understand what has happened with Caitlyn! I want to pick up Broken Angel now, after reading this one, just for the fun of it, because I love this story line!
There is a lot about technology in the book but I actually found myself thinking a lot about religion too, which I don't like too much in books. But the author did not make this seem like it was completely about God and his curses. So that was definitely a pro to the story, and don't worry if you are not a Christian because you won't feel like you're being forced to become a believer when you are reading this. The plot is intense, and it taught me quite a few things about friendship as Caitlyn's friends help her out and I really enjoyed that part.

In conclusion, Sigmund Brouwer does a great job explaining the details and his descriptions are great in this book! Also I really like how he developed the main characters and their personalities.

Disclosure: This book was provided to me by WaterBrook Multnomah for review.
